Marine's body returns home today (Tyler Warndorf)
The body of a Burlington, Ky., soldier killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq will return home today.
The body of Cpl. Christopher Tyler Warndorf, 21, is scheduled to arrive at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport about 6 p.m., family spokesman Warner Allen said.
Funeral arrangements have also been set for the fallen Marine.
The Marine Riders and Kentucky Patriot Guard Bikers will line Ky. 237 and follow the motorcade to First Christian Church in Burlington. The public is also encouraged to show its support.
The body will be driven along the following route: from the airport to Ky. 212, left on Ky. 20, left on Ky. 237, left on Ky. 18 and then an immediate right into the church, which is on Camp Ernst Road, just south of Ky. 18.
The Marine died during his third tour of Iraq. A suicide bomber ran a barricade around the soldiers' camp and blew himself up, killing Warndorf.
He had enlisted in the Marines in the fall of 2003, a few months after his graduation from Conner High School.
The death of his father, Christopher Warndorf, in 1994, forced him to grow up at an early age. He worked at Kroger and Donato's, among other places, to help his mother and siblings financially.
Visitation for Warndorf will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ in Burlington.
