Army expands reenlistment bonus program

Under changes to the enhanced program that took effect July 21, lump sum bonuses of $6,500 to $33,500 are available to soldiers in the ranks of private first class through staff sergeant who have 17 months to 14 years of service...
Career fields with specialties on the new list include:
• Infantry
• Field Artillery
• Air Defense
• Aviation maintenance
• Special Forces
• Armor
• Engineer
• Signal
• Military police
• Mechanical maintenance
• Medical
• Quartermaster
• Military intelligence.
As of mid-July, nearly 50,000 soldiers had re-enlisted in fiscal 2007, which began Oct. 1. The Army’s objective is to re-enlist 62,200 soldiers, which is the same mission as last year.
