New Home Delivered For Pequeno Family

LISBON, N.H. -- Nearly six months after Jose Pequeno was severely injured in an insurgent attack in Iraq, a new home for him and his family was delivered Tuesday.

As one of the final steps in the ongoing "Bring Jose Home" project, the modular home rolled through town in two pieces along with a police cruiser and fire truck escort.

"It's exciting and it's scary," said Kelley Pequeno, Jose's wife, as she waited for the house to come through town.

Pequeno was wounded March 1 while serving as a staff sergeant with the New Hampshire National Guard. The attack left Pequeno in a coma, injured another soldier and killed Vermont National Guardsman Christopher Merchant.
