Brandon Keith Bobb reported killed in Iraq
A soldier from Port Arthur has been killed in Iraq just weeks before he was scheduled to return home.
19 year old Brandon Keith Bobb was killed by a roadside bomb, according to Port Arthur Police Chief Mark Blanton, who is a longtime friend of the family and spoke with Bobb's mother Wednesday night.
Chief Blanton tells KFDM News Bobb and two other soldiers were killed Tuesday when a roadside bomb hit their humvee. Blanton says Bobb's mother didn't know where it happened in Iraq.
Chief Blanton told us Bobb attended Memorial High School for three years but graduated from high school in Florida because Hurricane Rita forced his family to move.
The soldier's body is scheduled to arrive Saturday at Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Gabriel Funeral Home in Port Arthur is handling the funeral arrangements.
Bobb was a military police officer and was scheduled to return home in less than one month.
