Iraqi Trade Minister calls for Iranian investment in Iraq
Tehran, Sept 6, IRNA Iraqi Trade Minister Abd al-Falah al-Sudani in a meeting with the head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce and members of Iran-Iraq Chamber here Wednesday called for further investment of Iranians in his country's reconstruction projects.
Al-Sudani pointed to the one-billion-dollar trade exchange between the two countries as insufficient.
Stating that Iraq's level of trade exchanges with Turkey and Jordan is higher than that with Iran, he said that Iran's
participation in his country's reconstruction is of great importance to his government.
Turning to Iraq's need for 7 million tons of cereals and foodstuff, he called on Iran to supply a great share of its demands.
Meanwhile, the minister pointed to several mutually signed trade agreements as an encouragement to the Iranians investing in Iraq.
