Grand Forks councilman back from duty in Iraq
GRAND FORKS, N.D. - City Council member Mike McNamara has returned from Iraq, where he attended council meetings by telephone.
McNamara, a Marine major, has been stationed in Iraq for the past seven months. He was elected to the City Council on June 13 and took office two weeks later. With the phone connection, he has missed just one council session. He returned to Grand Forks on Sunday night from Iraq. He said taxes are on his agenda as a council member.
