LAKE TWP. - Just days before the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a group of young Army Reservists hugged sobbing younger brothers and older sisters, pregnant wives and anxious mothers.
The soldiers won their first battle — fighting back tears and steadying quivering lips — as they slowly walked toward the bus that would take them to the place where they’d embark on their second fight.
