William T. Warford III dies 'of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device'
Fort Hood Cpl. William T. Warford III, 24, of Temple has died of injuries received in the explosion of a homemade bomb in Iraq, the military said.
Warford and Pfc. Dane R. Balcon, 19, of Colorado Springs, Colo. died on Wednesday in Balad, the military said.
Waford was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
Warford joined the Army in September 2004 and served as a track vehicle repairer.
He deployed to Iraq in October 2006
Balcon was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 7th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
Balcon joined the Army in January and served as a fire support specialist.
He deployed to Iraq in July.
