ANBAR PROVINCE - Four American soldiers were killed on Thursday while conducting combat operations in Anbar province in western Iraq, the U.S. military said.
NINEVEH PROVINCE - Three American soldiers were killed in Nineveh province in northern Iraq on Thursday when an explosion occurred near their vehicle, the U.S. military said.
BAGHDAD - Police found 12 bodies in different districts in Baghdad on Thursday, police said.
MOSUL - The bodies of four policemen were found with gunshot wounds in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, on Thursday, police said.
KIRKUK - Gunmen killed two people and wounded five others in a drive-by shooting outside a mosque on Thursday in Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - Iraqi and U.S. forces detained six Shi'ite militants including an alleged insurgent commander in Baghdad on Thursday, the U.S. military said.
KIRKUK - A roadside bomb wounded two people in central Kirkuk, police said.
