Carlos E. Gilorozco dies 'while conducting combat operations'

A young San Jose man has become the latest casualty of the war in Iraq.

Cpl. Carlos Gilorozco, 23, died in Al Anbar province Monday during combat, announced the U.S. Department of Defense.

Gilorozco was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, according to the Defense Department.

He was one of two Marines, along with a New Jersey resident, who died in combat on Monday.
