Ari D. Brown-Weeks reported killed in Iraq
A 23-year-old soldier who is a town native was killed last weekend in a truck accident in Iraq.
The parents of Ari D. Brown-Weeks, who turned 23 a month ago, have been notified of their son's death by the military, said his father, Jon Weeks. His mother is Karyn Brown.
The family first learned of Brown-Weeks death from his wife, Ashley, who lives in Abbington, Md. Later today, they will travel to Pennsylvania to pick up Brown-Weeks' grandparents and take them to Abbington where the funeral will be held, Weeks said.
Brown-Weeks was in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, which is based in Fort Bragg, N.C. While in this area, he attended Greenfield Center School, Winchenden School and Pioneer Valley Regional High School in Northfield and obtained his GED, Weeks said.
