Destroyed trucks lie in eastern Baghdad today following an air strike yesterday on a car park that injured three civilians.
BAGHDAD - A car bomb killed at least seven people in south Baghdad, including several children, a hospital source said. Twenty people were wounded in the blast in a mainly Shi'ite neighbourhood called Abu Dshir.
BAGHDAD - Two U.S. soldiers were killed and two wounded by a roadside bomb in southern Baghdad on Thursday, the military said. The type of bomb was identified as an explosively formed penetrator, which the United States says originate in Iran.
KUT - Masked gunmen killed a translator working with U.S. forces in the southern Shi'ite city of Kut, police said.
ISHAQI - At least six people were killed, including three police commandos, when gunmen ambushed a police convoy in Ishaqi, 100 km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - Two guards were killed when gunmen attacked a bank in the Saidiya district of southern Baghdad, police said. The branch was not robbed but two other guards were kidnapped.
YUSUFIYA - Two Iraqi soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in Yusufiya, 15 km (9 miles) south of Baghdad, police said. Four other soldiers were hurt in the attack.
SAMAWA - At least three people were killed in the southern city of Samawa during clashes between Iraqi police and the Medhi militia of Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, police said. Clashes began after police tried to arrest a Sadr official. Two of the dead were police and there were eight people wounded.
KIRKUK - A roadside bomb killed one civilian and wounded three other people, including two policemen, when it detonated near a passing police patrol vehicle on the outskirts of the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, police said.
BAGHDAD - Police found the bodies of 16 people across Baghdad on Wednesday, police sources said. Most were believed to be victims of sectarian attacks in the religiously mixed capital.
BAGHDAD - Mortar attacks on residential districts in south and west Baghdad wounded four people on Wednesday, police said.
BAGHDAD - Gunmen abducted five shop owners in Baghdad's eastern district of Mashtal, police said.
ISKANDARIYA - A mortar round wounded two people late on Wednesday when it landed on a house in the town of Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
ISKANDARIYA - Police found the body of a former officer in the Iraqi Army in Iskandariya on Wednesday, police said.
FALLUJA - Iraqi police found the bodies of five people in a rural area north of the Sunni city of Falluja, police said.
