RAMADI - A car bomb killed four people including two policemen near the western city of Ramadi, police said. They said 15 people were wounded.

TIKRIT - A U.S. soldier on board a military helicopter was killed when the aircraft was forced down in northern Iraq, the military said.

BAGHDAD - One soldier was killed during combat operations in southern Baghdad, the military said.

SAMARRA - Four policemen were killed and two were wounded by a roadside bomb in Samarra, 100 km (62 miles) north of Baghdad, the police said.

BAGHDAD - Iraqi security forces detained an alleged insurgent cleric and three other suspects in raids in Mosul on Tuesday, the U.S. military said on Wednesday.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces killed an estimated 25 insurgents during fighting near Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, in a three-day operation that ended on Monday, the U.S. military said.

HILLA - Three Iraqi soldiers were wounded by a mortar attack on their camp near Hilla, 100 km (62 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. soldiers detained 12 suspected militants in the Adhamiya district of northern Baghdad on Monday, the U.S. military said.

MOSUL - Iraqi and U.S. soldiers detained two suspected militants during raids in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, on Sunday, the U.S. military said on Wednesday.
