Andrew T. Engstrom dies 'from injuries suffered in a non-combat related incident'
FORT HOOD, Texas — A Texas soldier died this week in Iraq from injuries suffered in a non-combat related incident, the Department of Defense announced Thursday.
The death of Pfc. Andrew T. Engstrom, 22, of Slaton, is under investigation, according to a DoD release. The soldier died Wednesday. No additional information was provided.
Engstrom was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood.
Members of the public affairs office at Fort Hood did not immediately return phone messages left Thursday evening.
