Any news that can wait will not be posted until Tuesday, so as to distract as little as possible from the day's solemn intent: to honor and remember those who are willing, in Lincoln's words, to give their last, full measure of devotion...

In line with the tenor of the day, stories of the fallen will be posted later this afternoon or early this evening.

May those serving stay safe, and their families find comfort. And may there never again be a Memorial Day that finds us at war in Iraq.
