Demonstrators in Baghdad today protest against U.S. raids in Shi'ite neighborhoods.

MANDALI - Gunmen wearing Iraqi security forces uniforms shot 13 people, all members of Iraq's two main Kurdish parties, in Qara Lous, about 100 km (60 miles) northeast of Baghdad, in the volatile Diyala province, a local government official said.

KIRKUK - A roadside bomb wounded four civilians in a residential neighbourhood of the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk on Friday, police said.

BAGHDAD - Two U.S. soldiers were killed and two others were wounded when their patrol was hit by a roadside bomb and small arms fire in northern Baghdad on Friday, the U.S. military said.

DIWANIYA - Clashes between Shi'ite militiamen and U.S., Iraqi and Polish forces on Friday left one Iraqi soldier killed and five civilians wounded, including two children, police said.

HILLA - Iraqi police found two bodies bearing signs of torture in the Shi'ite city of Hilla, 100 km (62 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

MUSSAYAB - Clashes between foreign forces and insurgents killed one civilian in the town of Mussayab, about 60km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A suicide car bomb killed one Iraqi soldier and wounded two others when it targeted an Iraqi military checkpoint in western Baghdad's Mansour district, police said.
