Discarded Iraq Humvees heading to Guard
Above: Inspected vehicles awaiting transportation out of Iraq by way of Kuwait.
More than 3,000 Humvees that were going unused in the Iraq war theater because they lack state-of-the-art armor are headed stateside for the equipment-strapped Army National Guard...

Of the total, 3,096 will go to the Guard, with the first delivery of 774 arriving no later than June, according to the letter.
