Jason R. Arnette dies of injuries from I.E.D.
An Amelia County man was killed in action in Iraq last weekend.
Sgt. Jason Arnette died from wounds inflicted when an improvised explosive device exploded near the vehicle he was riding in. He was 24 years old.
The Amelia County High School graduate was on his third tour in iraq. His wife, Shenandoah Sky Arnette, says he'd become disenchanted with the military, and were already making plans for when he was discharged.
A private funeral will be held in Amelia soon. A headstone will also be placed at Arlington National Cemetary.
