Adam (Joseph A.) McSween laid to rest
The community of York laid to rest a U.S. sailor killed in the line of duty on Tuesday. Petty Officer Adam McSween died April 6th while serving in Iraq. Several members of the military were in attendance at the service with full military honors. Students and faculty from York College were in attendance. York College is where McSween met his wife, Erin, and this is why she chose to bury him in Nebraska. McSween is a native of Georgia. The York community came out in great numbers to honor the fallen soldier.
Stedden Sikes from York College said, "It's been 4 or 5 years since he's been on campus, but as soon as you hear the name Adam McSween you think of a Georgia boy, blonde hair, served hard, just someone you wanted to be around."
McSween was only 26 years old when he was killed. He will receive the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Action Ribbon.
McSween leaves behind two little girls. His fellow officers promised to take care of them and the rest of his family.
