ARBIL - U.S. forces stormed an Iranian representative office in the northern Iraqi Kurdish city of Arbil and arrested five people, including diplomats and staff, Iranian officials said. The U.S. military made no direct mention of Iranians but in answer to a query issued a statement saying six people had been arrested during routine operations in the area.

BAGHDAD - Five off-duty policemen were killed in Khadra in eastern Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.

NAHRAWAN - Four Oil Ministry officials were kidnapped from a minibus near Nahrawan, just southeast of Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.

BAGHDAD - U.S.-backed Iraqi police detained six suspected insurgents during raids in Doura in southern Baghdad, the U.S. military said. Another 10 men suspected of committing sectarian murders and planting roadside bombs were arrested on Wednesday in Jazaar in southeast Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

FALLUJA - A U.S. soldier was killed by a roadside bomb outside Falluja on Tuesday, the U.S. military said.

MOSUL - Two mortars fired by insurgents hit a mainly Sunni Arab girls' school in Mosul on Wednesday, wounding nine people including four students and three other children, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces killed eight suspected insurgents and detained seven more during raids to capture al Qaeda leaders in the area of Tarmiya, on the northern outskirts of Baghdad, between Saturday and Monday, the U.S. military said.
