Paul T. Sanchez dies of injuries from I.E.D.
A military police soldier assigned to the 10th Mountain Sustainment Brigade was killed in Baghdad January 14th when he was hit by an IED during combat operations.
Sgt. Paul T. Sanchez, 32, is a native of Irving, Texas. He enlisted in the Army in October 2000 and trained to be a multichannel transmission systems operator.
In 2005, Sanchez retrained to be a military policeman and was assigned to Fort Drum in November 2005. Sanchez previously deployed to Iraq with the 1st Infantry Division from February 2004 to February 2005.
In the past, he has been honored with the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife, who lives at Fort Drum, and his two children who live in Texas.
