Eric Vizcaino laid to rest

ALBUQUERQUE -- Hundreds of people attended the funeral mass this morning for a young Albuquerque soldier killed in Iraq.

San Jose Parish on Broadway SE was packed with family and friends of Army Spec. Eric Vizcaino.

Vizcaino, 21, was fatally shot last week in a non-combat incident in Baghdad, according to military officials.

His family expects to learn the exact cause of death when the army completes its investigation later this month.

The young soldier was buried this afternoon at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The West Mesa High School graduate is survived by his parents, two sisters, his wife and daughter.
