MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6:

BAGHDAD - A curfew in Baghdad and other areas to prevent an insurgent backlash against a court ruling that Saddam Hussein should hang will be lifted on Tuesday, the prime minister's office said. Vehicles will be allowed back in the streets at 6 a.m. (0300 GMT). Pedestrians are free to travel immediately.

BAGHDAD - Mortar shells slammed into Baghdad's western Sunni district of Adhamiya, wounding seven people, police said.

TIKRIT - Two U.S. soldiers were killed when a helicopter crashed in Salahaddin province north of Baghdad on Monday, the military said. "No activity fire was observed in the area at that time," a U.S. statement said, adding that the crash was under investigation.

BAQUBA - Police said the final toll when forces opened fire on pro-Saddam demonstrators in Baquba on Sunday was two dead and six wounded. Hundreds of people defied a curfew to protest after Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death.

FALLUJA - Two U.S. Marines and one soldier died on Saturday and Sunday from wounds sustained in combat in the western province of Anbar, the U.S. military said.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5:

BAQUBA - Hundreds of people defied a curfew to protest against the death sentence handed to former president Saddam Hussein. Police said their forces had fired warning shots, wounding one person.

YUSUFIYA - U.S.-led forces killed an insurgent in a raid near Yusufiya, 15 km (9 miles) south of Baghdad, and found a large weapons and explosives cache in another raid near Baiji in which 15 suspects were detained, the U.S. military said.

FALLUJA - A U.S. Marine died from non-hostile causes on Saturday in Anbar province, the military said on Sunday.

BAGHDAD - Clashes broke out between gunmen and U.S. and Iraqi troops in Adamiya and Haifa Street, both Sunni areas, after Saddam was sentenced to death. Police said there were no casualties, but that one woman had been killed and 10 people wounded by celebratory gunfire.

BAGHDAD - Mortars landed on Adamiya, a Sunni district of Baghdad, killing three people and wounding 11, police said. Mortars also landed on the mostly Shi'ite district of Abu Dsheer, killing two and wounding four, police said.

BAGHDAD - A U.S. soldier on patrol was shot and killed in western Baghdad on Saturday, the military said on Sunday.

BALAD - U.S. helicopters struck the town of Balad, killing two people and wounding five, including two policemen, the Joint Coordination Center between U.S. and Iraqi forces in Tikrit said.

KIRKUK - A bomb exploded near a truck in the city of Kirkuk, killing the driver and wounding two people, police said.

HAWIJA - A bomb exploded near a police patrol in Hawija, 70 km (43 miles) southwest of Kirkuk, wounding five people, including two policemen, police said.
