Norman R. Taylor killed by roadside bomb
FORT CARSON, Colo. - The Defense Department on Friday identified three Fort Carson-based soldiers - including a California man - killed in Iraq earlier this week when a bomb exploded near their vehicle.
Sgt. Norman R. Taylor III, 21, of Blythe, Calif., Staff Sgt. Ryan E. Haupt, 24, of Phoenix, and Pfc. Nathan J. Frigo, 23, of Kokomo, Ind., were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment in the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, which is part of 4th Infantry Division.
The troops were among nine soldiers and one Marine killed by roadside bombs and enemy fire Tuesday, the military said. The three were killed in Baqubah, Iraq.
