Ryan E. Haupt, on 3rd tour, killed by roadside bomb

Barely able to hold back tears Tara Haupt is devastated by the loss of her first love 24-year army staff Sergeant Ryan Haupt.

The couple divorced 2 years ago, but Haupt said precious moments with Ryan will never be forgotten.

Sadly, staff Sergeant Haupt was one of nine soldiers and one marine killed by a roadside bomb Tuesday.

It was his third tour in Iraq.

“When he decided to go into the army I was really upset, afraid this would happen,” Tara said.

Tara, now re-married said Sergeant Haupt was expected to return home to Phoenix next month and planned on re-enlisting because belonging in the military meant the world to him.

“I'm proud of him for everything he had accomplished and I'll miss him,” she said.
