Twenty-five-year-old Sergeant Moises Jazmin, 20-year-old Specialist Gixing Lee, 21-year-old Specialist Shaun Novak, and 23-year-old Specialist Tristan Smith were members of Fort Hood's Fourth infantry division.
CBS 42's Rebecca Taylor talked to soldiers and civilians around fort hood, to find out how they're coping with the loss.
At the army surplus store, Deborah Berndt helps soldiers called to war -- and others, called home.
"They have all the ribbons on it and the names go here, and all the awards they've won," Berndt said.
At the back of her shop, past the combat boots and military fatigues, are the 'Class A' uniforms.
"Most of the time if they're having a military funeral they get buried in this," Berndt said.
News of four more soldier deaths in this tight-knit military town hit hard this week -- but the grim news was nothing new here.
"It's gotten to me really, to be a day-in day-out thing," said Killeen resident Kathleen Haas. "And we hear it and we say, well, there's four more or however many there were, that were here yesterday and they're gone today."
Brian Staswick has already served one tour of duty in Iraq. He says faith helps him cope.
"I'm definitely a strong Christian so my faith helps me a lot," Staswick said. "I don't know how I'd deal with it otherwise."
As for Berndt, her husband it headed back to Iraq soon.
"Seven of his friends have died over there already," she said. "It hits home. I try not to let it, but it hits home."
