Iraq leader delays his official Iran visit

TEHRAN The first official visit to Iran by Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al- Maliki of Iraq, which was scheduled for Monday, will be delayed for a day or more, Iraqi and Iranian officials said on Sunday.

"It was scheduled that he arrive in Tehran tomorrow, but due to some technical reasons he cannot come tomorrow," Mohammad Majid al-Sheikh, Iraq's ambassador to Iran, said on Iranian state television, referring to the scheduled arrival on Monday.

He did not give details but said the trip could take place on Tuesday or later.
