Jason K. Lafleur dies 'when the vehicle he was in struck an IED during combat operations'
A soldier from Ignacio, Colorado is among three soldiers killed in recent combat in Iraq.
The Department of Defense said today that 28-year-old Corporal Jason K. Lafleur and two other soldiers died when their vehicle hit an explosive device.
Officials didn't say when the explosion ocurred.
Also killed were 21-year-old Private first class Jaron D. Holliday of Oklahoma and 25-year-old Sergeant Dustin S. Wakeman of Fort Worth, Texas.
They were members of the Army's 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division based in Fort Richardson, Alaska.
