Air National Guard misses recruiting goal for second month

The latest recruiting numbers for the Air National Guard are out, and like last month’s numbers, they aren’t good.

Of the 907 citizen airmen the Air Guard hoped to bring in during July, it recruited only 787, for 87 percent of goal, Pentagon figures show...

If the Air Guard does not do well in August and September, it risks ending the fiscal year behind goal.

A spokeswoman for the Air Guard said that retention remained very good in July, and that the Air Guard remains nearly 100 percent manned.
