BAGHDAD - A suicide car bomb targeting an Iraqi Army patrol in the Zayouna district of eastern Baghdad killed 20 people and wounded 20 others, police said. Four Iraqi soldiers were among the dead.

BAGHDAD - The bodies of 24 people were found shot in different districts of Baghdad on Tuesday, police said.

DIYALA - Gunmen dressed in military uniforms shot dead 29 people in a mainly Shi'ite village in Diyala province on Monday, an Iraqi security official said.

BAGHDAD - One person was killed and two wounded by mortar attacks in Nahrawan of southeastern Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - One civilian was killed and two wounded when a roadside bomb went off in the Zayouna district, police said.

SUWAYRA - Police recovered five bodies from the Tigris river in the town of Suwayra south of Baghdad, police said.

YUSUFIYA - A bomb killed one policeman and wounded four other people in Yusufiya 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Three people were killed and five wounded in a drive-by shooting as people queued for petrol in the central Baghdad district of Mansour, police said.

YUSUFIYA - One policeman was killed and four civilians wounded by a roadside bomb near Yusufiya, police said.

BAGHDAD - At least 12 suspected insurgents were killed by U.S. troops during a clash in eastern Baghdad on Monday, the military said on Tuesday.

BAGHDAD - At least four people were killed and five others wounded by a car bomb inside a parking lot near the Iranian Embassy in central Baghdad, police said.

SAMARRA - Gunmen ambushed and killed the director of Dhuluiya hospital and wounded three other hospital employees near Samarra, 100 km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BALAD - An Iraqi judge was shot dead by gunmen at a fake checkpoint near Balad, 80 km (53 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Twenty five bodies were found dumped around Baghdad on Monday, police said.

JURF AL-SAKHIR - Five people were killed in clashes between suspected al Qaeda militants and Islamic Army insurgents linked with former Saddam Hussein loyalists near Jurf al-Sakhar, 85 km (60 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
