Jason M. Morales dies of 'injuries sustained when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire'

LA PUENTE - A La Puente man was killed in Baghdad, Iraq, on Wednesday, making him the fourth soldier from La Puente to die in the Iraq War.

Army Pfc. Jason M. Morales, 20, was killed by small-arms fire, the Department of Defense announced Friday.

Morales was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, hailing from Fort Riley, Kansas.

Family members could not be reached for comment Friday.
