BAGHDAD - Clashes between Iraqi police and gunmen in Baghdad's southern neighbourhood of Doura killed three civilians and wounded 10, police said.

MOSUL - A U.S. air strike killed eight Kurdish Peshmerga militiamen and wounded six others in Mosul, Kurdish officials said, describing the incident as apparent friendly fire. The U.S. military said it killed five armed men during a raid targeting an al Qaeda cell. The men turned out to be Kurdish police, the U.S. military said.

MOSUL - A roadside bomb in Mosul wounded 17 people, including 10 policemen.

BASRA - A British soldier was killed and three were wounded by a roadside bomb in Basra in southern Iraq, the Ministry of Defence said in London.

KIRKUK - A car bomb exploded near the home of a police colonel, wounding five people, including the colonel and two members of his family, police said.

TIKRIT - The U.S. military said it killed 10 insurgents who were planting roadside bombs along major roadways north of Baghdad on Feb. 5.

BAGHDAD - Three U.S. soldiers died on Thursday of wounds sustained in combat in western Anbar province, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - The U.S. military said it had killed eight insurgents in an air strike that destroyed a building in Arab Jbour near Baghdad after its ground forces came under heavy fire and had to call in air force support.

HILLA - Two people were killed and eight wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in a market in Hazwa, near Hilla, south of Baghdad, police said.
