Lawrence J. Carter dies of injuries from I.E.D.
Two Schweinfurt, Germany-based soldiers have died in Iraq, the Pentagon said Tuesday.
Sgt. Lawrence J. Carter, 25, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Pfc. William R. Newgard, 20, of Arlington Heights, Ill., died when a bomb went off near their vehicle during combat operations in Baghdad on Dec. 29, according to a news release.
Both men were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.
