Jesse J.J. Castro dies of injuries from I.E.D.
The war claimed another one of Guam's sons -- 22-year-old Army Sgt. Jesse Castro, who was killed in an explosion in Iraq Wednesday.
A roadside bomb killed five soldiers assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, in Hawaii, and Castro's family yesterday confirmed he was with that unit.
He is survived by his wife of three years, Theresa, and their two-week-old son, Jesse Castro Jr.
Castro is a 2003 graduate of Evangelical Christian Academy.
This was Castro's second tour in Iraq, his wife said yesterday. He was last on Guam in May and called his wife here on Tuesday.
"He was just an all-around kind of guy," she said. "He didn't have any enemies, just very respectful, respected everybody, loved by everyone."
