Joshua C. Alonzo killed in combat

The Pentagon identified a Panhandle Marine as a member of the U.S. forces died in Iraq this week.

Marine Lance Cpl. Joshua C. Alonzo, 21, of Dumas, died Wednesday while involved in combat operations in Al Anbar province west of Baghdad. The Marine Corps released no details of the incident.

Alonzo was serving with the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division of the Hawaii-based III Marine Expeditionary Force.
