Angel De Jesus Lucio Ramirez killed by I.E.D.
BAKERSFIELD -- A Bakersfield family is mourning the loss of their soldier son, who died in Iraq on Veteran's Day.
Army Sgt. Angel De Jesus Lucio Ramirez, 22, died after a roadside bomb detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Ramadi, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. Two other soldiers, Army Staff Sgt. William Jackson, 29, and Army Staff Sgt. Misael Martinez, 24, also died in the incident.
A family friend said Lucio Ramirez will be buried in Westwood on Friday.
The soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 16th Engineer Batallion, 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division in Giessen, Germany.
