Henry Paul killed in rollover accident in Iraq

Another son of Micronesia has died in Iraq, marking the 13th casualty for the region since the war in Iraq began in 2003.

The Federated States of Micronesia and its Pacific island neighbors are mourning the death of Army Pfc. Henry Paul, 24, of Kolonia, which is in the state of Pohnpei.

Paul and another soldier died Tuesday in Baghdad of injuries received when their M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle rolled over, according to the Defense Department.

The incident is under investigation, the Pentagon said.
Paul and Staff Sgt. Edward C. Reynolds Jr., 27, of Groves, Texas, who also died in the incident, were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division in Fort Hood, Texas.

Since 9/11, Guam and its Pacific island neighbors have seen hundreds of their sons and daughters deployed to the war on terrorism and the war with Iraq.

Now the 13 sons of Micronesia are among the more than 2,800 people who have been killed since the war in Iraq began in 2003.
